Delfina Biedma is one of the top DJs in Argentina who plays exclusive playlists to both the LGBTQ club scene and the corporate world.
NY Art Life: Thank you for sitting down to speak to us today. We are so excited to talk to you about your exciting career.
Delfina Biedma: The pleasure is mine! I’m happy to be recognized for my DJing by your distinguished publication. It is truly an honor. I’m excited that 30K of your followers will be reading this article!
NY Art Life: First off, I’d like to say I’m very impressed with your impact on the music scene in Argentina and the crazy playlists that you create.
Delfina Biedma: It is a very demanding time to be a DJ now, especially because there are so many different types of events and music genres that I have to cater to. I have become super versatile as an artist to manage the needs of my patrons.
NY Art Life: My favorite part of yours is the online pandemic party. This was a major career achievement. Can you tell me more about this?
Delfina Biedma: My most important events were several, the most recent ones being for Valen and Sofi from “Cómo Salir del Closet” on their YouTube channel when they reached 150,000 subscribers, and then 175,000 subscribers. Based on my reputation as a DJ in Argentina they selected me to play an exclusive playlist. I performed in a safe space they gave me to play the music I felt most comfortable with. Those two virtual parties were truly beautiful and fun, with a lot of diversity and different cultures coming together, all dancing in their respective parts of the world. I remember receiving messages from Spain, Panama, Chile, Colombia, and the feeling that distance didn’t matter at all, it was beautiful. There were hundreds of thousands of party attendees for these virtual parties.

NY Art Life: This sounds amazing. It’s a true artistic milestone to have hundreds of thousands of patrons listen to your music.
Delfina Biedma: Another recent event was for Radio ONE, an FM radio station that is one of the most popular in Argentina. Only top DJs get to have their set played on live air and to be recognized for my artistic work by a major radio station really confirmed my expertise. This is an achievement I am specifically proud of and I hope to continue to have my work listened to thousands of listeners.
NY Art Life: This is exactly why we wanted to interview you. You have accomplished so much within your career.
Delfina Biedma: I have worked extremely hard in my career and I have over 10 years of experience. At the age of 14, I discovered my passion for events and music. From that moment on, my reputation grew through word of mouth and recommendations. Eventually, I began to be called to perform in events in San Isidro, Tigre, and Hurlingam. When I turned 16, I purchased my own equipment and started hosting events with crowds of 200 to 250 people. By 21, I was performing at major events, nightclubs, and bars.
NY Art Life: What are some of the different venues that you have performed in?
Delfina Biedma: I have performed at renowned venues in Buenos Aires, such as Shampoo and Viper, as well as in San Isidro, including Ciguapa. I have also performed at the Moomba Festival, alongside more than 10 recognized DJs from across the country.
NY Art Life: That is incredible. No doubt, you are amazing, and you deserve this recognition. Have you had any notable professional collaborations?
Delfina Biedma: Yes! I have performed with DJ Lenni Funk, one of the top DJs in Argentina, for Imperial Beerhouse, when they celebrated the return of Los Pumas, the Argentine Rugby National Team. This was a huge national event that was covered extensively by the press.
NY Art Life: Fabulous! Can you remind us of your press mentions?
Delfina Biedma: Yes, absolutely. I have been featured in international press like ( Mundocerveza) for my work with the Argentine National Team and ( Locally) for my corporate DJ work, where I DJed for REMAX, the largest real estate agency in the country.
NY Art Life: You are truly a star! Can you give our readers some advice about becoming successful in the DJ world like you?
Delfina Biedma: Absolutely! To really bring your career to the next level you need to be able to cater to all different types of listeners. From corporate clients to festival attendees, to patrons in a venue. This means that you need to have creative versatility and flexibility, which is basically the ability to read crowds and play different types of music and playlists. Don’t be afraid to branch out and have untraditional clients like corporate clients.
NY Art Life: Beautiful! I strongly agree.
