Here’s a list of fun things to do with kids in New York City, one of the most exciting cities in the world!

New York City offers a lot of fun things to do with kids. Its sights and attractions are plentiful. The city is safe, and it’s packed with fun activities for kids of all ages. Even better? There’s really no good reason to bring along your own kids. Sure, you could head to Central Park or play mini-golf. There are numerous country club like courses littered around the city. However, there are also acres of playgrounds, public parks, beaches, farms, botanical gardens, zoos and more. They aren’t going to be crowded by other families over summer break. If you’re traveling with kids, here are fun things to do in New York that are sure to entertain everyone.

Eat Doughnuts in Brooklyn

If you’re looking for the perfect excuse to eat some doughnuts, New York City has you covered. Brooklyn’s culinary landscape is full of many options. Those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth, you’re going to need a car to make this trip a success. Head to the borough’s iconic Bedford Ave. for the best doughnut shopping experience. You’ll also want to check out the nearby St. Mary’s Doughnut Shop. At the same time, the recently opened Brooklyn Kitchen offers a vegan and gluten-free option.

If you’re looking for a “greasy spoon” experience, try nearby Greenmap Coffee. Doughnut Plant is also a popular spot. There are also countless stores in the area that sell sugary treats. Brooklyn Bread and Bagel, Greenmap Coffee, Downtown Deli and Bagel, or Littleia Bakeshop are just a few examples.

Explore Central Park

Most people think of Central Park as a great place for a run or a picnic, but it’s also a great place to visit with kids. The park is filled with plenty of attractions to keep them busy, including the New York Public Library for Young People, the Central Park Carousel, the Great Lawn, Bethesda Fountain, the Children’s Zoo, the Central Park Conservatory, Secret Garden, the Ramble, the Central Park Zoo, and Alice in Wonderland, to name a few. While visiting the park, make sure you check out the Children’s Zoo, the Central Park Conservatory and the Ramble, a 15-acre park that is actually filled with a variety of birds, insects, flowers and other wildlife.

Visit a Museum

No trip to New York City is complete without a visit to one of its many museums. The city is home to some of the best museums in the world. This includes The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The American Museum of Natural History, The Museum of Modern Art, The Guggenheim Museum, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and many more. If you’re looking for a way to spend an entire day exploring one museum, try visiting the world-renowned Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) located in Midtown Manhattan. To get kids excited about museums, try visiting during a free or discounted program. Many museums offer free admission on the first Wednesday of the month. This includes The American Museum of Natural History, The MET The Guggenheim Museum, or The MoMa. You can also look up free activities that museums may have. They often have science museums with free activities for kids.

Hang Out at the Zoo

The zoo is the perfect place for kids to get some fresh air, see other kids, and get some exercise all at the same time. After visiting the zoo, make sure you head to one of the city’s many outdoor markets, such as Little Italy’s Columbus Park or Union Square’sagons, where you’ll find all kinds of artistic wares. If you’re looking for a way to get kids excited about exploring the city, take them to the zoo. New York City’s outdoor theaters are popping up in neighborhoods all over the city, making it easy for families to take a trip to a great outdoor performance. One of the best ways to experience the city’s great outdoor theater scene is to take a day trip out of town. During the summer, many outdoor theaters, such as the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Lincoln Center, the High Line, and the Flushing Meadows Corona Park, host outdoor performances. If you’re looking for a way to get kids excited about exploring the city, take them to one of the city’s many outdoor theaters. There are so many great theaters to visit, including the New York Theater, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, or the Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
