It is noteworthy that a lot of artists creating different forms of art make references to New York’s bridges and tunnels. The city truly provides inspiration everywhere you look and go. Every nook and cranny just sparks off creative juices for all artists alike. Manhattan Island links to the rest of New York through bridges and tunnels. Examine how various genres of art feature these linkages.

Manhattan to Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Bridge, created in the late 1860s, is John Roebling’s work of art. Highlighted in several films, this 1825-meter-long bridge is included in Marvel and Disney movies. Here are the movies where the Brooklyn Bridge is a highlight:

  • The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2011)
  • Enchanted (2007)
  • John Wick (2014)

The Williamsburg Bridge is Leffert Lefferts Buck’s masterpiece. The 488-meter-long link is featured in a best-selling book and a poem by a prominent artist in New York’s art world. Here is where the Williamsburg Bridge is featured:

Queens Midtown Tunnel is an expertise of Ole Singstad. The 1,955-meter-long tunnel is a filming location for Netflix and HBO television series. The TV series are the following:

Manhattan to Bronx

Willis Bridge is Thomas C. Clarke. Built between 1897-1901, the link connects Manhattan and the Bronx. An artist made a song about the Willis Bridge. Here’s the song you can listen to while thinking about the bridge:

Manhattan to New Jersey

The George Washington Bridge is Othmar Ammann and Cass Gilbert’s brainchild. This 1,450-meter long bridge has been in the movies. This bridge appeared in the following films:

  • Desperately Seeking Susan

Lincoln Tunnel is the brainchild of Ole Singstad. Three tubes composes the tunnel. In the following movies, you can see The Lincoln Tunnel:

Initially, the Holland Tunnel was known as the Canal Street Tunnel or the Hudson River Vehicular Tunnel. Here are several films in which you may see the tunnel:
